Mentoring the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs at Circle Up

I recently had the privilege of mentoring a dynamic group of high school and university students at Circle Up, an event dedicated to fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs.

These young innovators organized the event at a prestigious university, securing sponsorships and developing engaging resources—all with limited means. Their mission was to create startups aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, focusing specifically on Decent Work and Economic Growth—a cause that deeply resonates with my own commitment to empowering individuals through language and technology.

Over two intensive days, five teams conceptualized and developed unique startup ideas, demonstrating remarkable creativity, leadership, and resilience. Their passion and drive were truly inspiring, embodying the spirit of innovation and resourcefulness that is essential in today’s entrepreneurial landscape.

Reflecting on the experience, I was continually amazed by the ingenuity and dedication these future leaders displayed. It was a classic scenario where I set out to inspire but left profoundly inspired by their potential and vision.

This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of mentoring and supporting emerging entrepreneurs, especially those committed to creating meaningful change with limited resources. It also highlighted the critical role of effective communication and language skills in the success of entrepreneurial ventures—a core focus of my work at the intersection of language, software, and entrepreneurship.

I look forward to continuing to support and mentor future changemakers, helping them navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and empowering them to turn their innovative ideas into reality.
